Supporting our Superhero Illustrator
Under the duress of the war in Ukraine, the talented Lena Bardy has demonstrated her resilience and perseverance whilst creating the beautiful illustrations inside our books and resources.
Lenaโs dedication, positivity, and love for her country have radiated throughout our collaboration. She has become an inspiration and deeply valued part of the MFB family.
Which is why, as a way to show our ongoing love, support, and appreciation, we are committed to donating a portion of proceeds from each Superhero Club Membership to help Lena care for herself, and her families well-being, during this challenging time.
A Message From Lena
โI have no words. Your offer took me by surprise. I cry and thank you. It will be very timely for me personally and for all of us.
The fact is that I need to take a long pause in my work, as I feel complete psychological exhaustion after a year of war and find it difficult to concentrate on the actual tasks at hand. This is why the creation of the book has been stretched out in time.
I need to recover. But it is difficult for me to afford it, since my family is financially dependent on my income.
Thank you! Your concern and generosity will pay you back in a big way. To your entire family. I am sure of it.โ

About the Book
When I drew the illustrations, I tried on myself all of the breathing patterns described in the book. This was to understand what the character looks like. It was fun and has helped me to feel calm.
I had to think about it for a long time, and I think it's the sandcastle and waterfall pages. That symbolizes childhood happiness for me. That's probably why I chose this particular illustration.
The humming breath of course!
About Her Life
If we don't talk about the war itself and the constant danger of missile attacks (it may seem like everyone is used to it, but you can't get used to that fear), the main problem for me is the inability to plan.
It is stupid to plan anything further than a month in advance. This applies to everything from buying a ticket to the theater, to planning a vacation, apartment renovation, or for my children's education.
The main thing for all Ukrainians now is to help the army. That's why everyone is helping. Big businesses can participate with large sums, small organizations do what they can.
For example my friends weave camouflage nets and suits with their own hands (see video below), cook food and give it all to the front.
Even children sell their handicrafts or cookies and give the proceeds to the common cause - to help the army.
Time spent with my family and my hobby of cross-stitch embroidery.
